August 4, 2025, Penang – Zhao Sen, Chairman of Shandong Guogang Commercial Management Co., Ltd., led a core delegation to the Penang Chinese Enterprise Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia, initiating specialized discussions on technology trade and supply chain collaboration. This visit represents both a practical step in aligning with China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and a strategic move to deepen market presence in Southeast Asia and build a global cooperation network. It injects new momentum into Sino-Malaysian enterprise collaboration in the digital economy era.
During a closed-door meeting, Chairman Zhao Sen outlined Shandong Guogang’s end-to-end service capabilities and global achievements in commercial management and international trade. He emphasized plans to leverage Malaysia’s strategic position as a Southeast Asian hub to deepen cooperation in emerging industries like electronics and new energy. Representatives from the Penang Chamber detailed local advantages in tech industry clusters, free trade port incentives, and cross-border trade facilitation measures. Both sides conducted targeted alignment on electronic component imports/exports, regional distribution of new energy products, and cross-border e-commerce ecosystem development. Preliminary agreements were reached in areas including technology-enabled trade and supply chain coordination.
To gain precise market insights, the delegation conducted field research across Penang’s core commercial districts, specialized markets, and industrial parks. The team analyzed trends in electronics iteration, new energy end-user applications, and market penetration of specialty consumer goods. Through in-depth interviews with leading local suppliers and cross-border distributors, they systematically mapped Southeast Asia’s supply chain characteristics, logistics cost structures, and policy compliance requirements—laying a solid foundation for tailored cooperation strategies.
This Penang mission established strategic connectivity between Shandong Guogang and Southeast Asia’s business networks. Beyond fostering cross-cultural trust through face-to-face engagement, it pinpointed concrete entry points for tech trade collaboration. Moving forward, Shandong Guogang will use this visit as a springboard to deepen multi-tiered cooperation with Malaysian and regional enterprises. It will explore an integrated "Technology + Trade + Supply Chain" model, jointly pioneering new frontiers for international growth under the BRI principles of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits.
